Brothers Always

Bootcamp Part-I Have you a great "hideaway" restaurant; maybe something you'd like to show-off/share with some of your League Brothers?  Well, not only are we (always) "Looking for a Few Good Men," we're also looking for a few good places to allow for our next Social Night out.  So, this request then goes out to ALL you Devil Dogs... to reconnoiter (scope out) the surrounding restaurants, and ASK if they would be willing to accommodate a group of highly disciplined (former active duty) Marines and their spouses for an evening of fine food and spirit with them.  If you DO find such a place, get in touch with Tom Hisel (Dining Event Coordinator).  Remember, two rules here though: First, there has to be room enough to accommodate between 30-50 people; secondly, this has to be non-gratis, meaning our meager (non-profit) Detachment is not equipped to have to pay out anything for the space

Bootcamp Part-ILeague/Detachment Name-tags are now available for order from Junior Vice Commandant Rich Bennett at only $6 per... (call him, or send him an email by clicking over his name)

Bootcamp Part-ICongratulations to Commandant Joe Barbee as he was selected "Marine of the Year" for Detachment 970. Job well done Marine!  OooHRahhh!

Did You Know?
Bootcamp Part-I Take a peek at the Command Staff Page .     Did you know that you can e-mail any individual, or groups of individuals within the command structure simply by "clicking" on their position, or... by "clicking" on the entire group.   For example... if I wanted to write an e-mail to the Detachment Commandant, I would simply click over his title "Commandant."     If I wanted to write that e-mail to the entire Officer Staff, I would place my pointer over the Title "Officers" and "click;" at which time a window will open and the e-mail will be addressed to all Officers of the command... pretty cool, aye?     (we thought you'd think-so!)

Bootcamp Part-I Did you know that if you're having problems (using MS Internet Explorer) seeing the "Password" text box appear, when trying to open-up the "Postings," or "Administration" Page(s), that it may be because your "Page Scripting" options need some adjusting.   If this is the case, follow the bouncing ball:
1. Select ("Click" open) the "Tools" option within MSIE (Explorer)
2. Under "Internet Options," select the Second Option/Tab of the seven listed (titled: "Security")
3. In the box titled "Security Level for this Zone," select the "Custom Level" option
4. Within the "Security Settings - Internet Zone" text box, scroll towards the bottom of all options, called "Scripting"
5. Select (ENABLE) the fourth option: "Allow websites to prompt for information using scripted windows"
6. Select "OK" to back yourself completely out (back to your internet window)

And... voila... you have just made the necessary change that will allow you to receive such website access.   NOW, go back out to either the Postings, or Administration Page(s) and attempt to open them again; enjoy your new-found access!   Remember though... you will need to know the password to enter either (or both) of these Pages.   HINT: The password to the Postings (formerly: "Voting Booth") has already been supplied to all members at both our meetings and through the website introductory letter.   If you've forgotten them, simply contact us and we'll make sure you get back on the road again... no problem... "Can Do!"
