The Marine Corps League of Middle Georgia prides itself on its involvement within each of our communities. Throughout each year, the Detachment seeks-out, and actively participates in almost every national holiday, military and civil event. Each member of the Detachment VOLUNTEERS his or her involvement in time, effort, money and experience. They are committed to reminding the members of our communities of their CONTINUED dedication to our country.

Christmas Wrap Program: Providing an expression of solidarity with our Brothers at the VA Hospital, this program provides all patients with small gifts of necessities. They are (mostly) inexpensive items that can be picked up at locations such at the Dollar Store, Dollar Tree, etc. Last year patients in receipt of these gifts included those within the hospital, nursing home, Alzheimer home, the Homeless home, and other service/medical entities. They served well over 300 patients this last year. We will start collections for this program as of the August (monthly) meeting. please be generous!

Hot Dog! As most of you know, the Detachment, in an effort towards establishing a more diverse level of camaraderie and friendship during each monthly meeting, has been bringing in an assortment of (cooked) hot dogs, and assorted snacks (i.e., chips), as well as the accompanying condiments. Donations by most members handles the predominance of cost, with a paymaster check backup (if needed). What we're asking is to pass the hat as it were in taking this effort over -even if only for one or two monthly meetings. This way, the "job" of purchasing and preparing (then the logistics) will be equally shared.
